City of St Charles School District

A Proud Past...An Enlightened Future

Welcome

  • Dear City of St. Charles School District families,

As we get closer to the end of our school year, here are a few items we would like to share with you.

*Our last day of virtual instruction is Thursday, May 21st. Report cards will be emailed in early June.

*Soon, principals will be emailing out specific information regarding plans for student pick up and drop off of personal/school items at individual school buildings. This will occur during May 26-29. Please adhere to all directives and guidelines set by your principal. Please note that this isn’t a time for congregating or visiting. Social distancing (6ft) will need to be followed. Wearing a mask is certainly an appropriate choice and encouraged, but not mandatory. Principals are planning to get students/parents in and out of the property/building in the safest/quickest manner possible. Due to a flooring project, the Early Childhood days for pick up will be Tuesday, June 30 & Wednesday, July 1. Elementary parents, please complete the Chromebook return form so we know when you plan to return the borrowed Chromebook. The District will be providing an extension for students to keep Chromebooks throughout the summer until the end of July. This opportunity is being offered so that students can participate in virtual learning activities. PreK-8 summer learning activities will be available on the District's website beginning no later than June 15.

*Graduation plans for July 25th for SCHS and July 26th for SCW are coming along nicely. Information from your principal regarding specific logistics for graduation and virtual senior recognition/award plans will be sent out in early June. Please remember to drive by the billboard at highway 94 and Interstate 70 during the weeks of May 18th and May 25th to check out our senior display. Also, the “lighting up the football field” event is taking place on the 28th for SCHS and the 31st for SCW (at 8:20 pm for 20 minutes). Both schools are planning a “parade” to honor each senior class in conjunction with the stadium lights event. Stay tuned for more information.

Reminders: Summer camps/activities/events for June are canceled. All SCSD facilities, fields, and playgrounds remain closed throughout June. We hope that distancing protocols allow us to have camps/activities/events in July, please stay tuned. Breakfast/lunch service is continuing with pick-up times (8:30-11:30 AM) on Tuesday and Friday at Jefferson Intermediate and Hardin Middle.

District/school offices will be open in June, Monday-Thursday from 8 am to 3 pm, unless otherwise noted. You are encouraged to call and set up an appointment, but we are here if you need any assistance.

We look forward to finishing the school year strong and wish everyone a healthy, restful summer. We will be sure to keep you updated with our plans for reentry in August. Our goal is to inform you in mid July on what you can expect for school reentry. We thank you for your continued patience, understanding, and trust. It’s our utmost priority to keep our community safe, while providing the best instruction and care possible. Together, we will continue to move forward and prosper during this very unpredictable time.

    United Together,
    Dr. Jason Sefrit
