Students (and their parents), will be educated on symptoms of COVID-19 and the importance of not coming to school if symptomatic. If your child is experiencing any of the following symptoms, you will be contacted and/or required to pick up your child. Your child must be symptom free (without the use of medication) for 24 hours before returning to school.
- Fever (100.4 or above)
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- Runny nose
- Body/muscle aches
- Loss of taste or smell
Morning health screenings will take place at the beginning of each school day. The following questions will be asked:
Do you feel sick?
Do you have a fever (100.4 or higher)?
Do you have a cough?
Do you have shortness of breath or difficulty breathing?
Do you have chills?
Do you have a sore throat?
Do you have muscle aches/pains?
Do you have a new loss of smell or taste?
Have you or a close contact been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days?
If one or more of the following symptoms is present, the student will be sent to the school nurse for immediate in-person evaluation. The school nurse will contact parents and determine the appropriate next steps. If the student is sent home, they must NOT attempt to enter the bus/school building until 24 hours after symptoms subside. They will be encouraged to seek testing and/or call their primary care physician.
Parents must be prompt when picking up their child, as we must keep COVID-19 exposure to a minimum. Please check in with the front office, and a staff member will direct you to "Clinic C" to pick up your child.
Please contact the school nurse if your child or a household member is positive for COVID-19 or awaiting test results.
