Dr. Stephanie Jewett named as HMS principal

The City of St. Charles School District is excited to announce that Dr. Stephanie Jewett has been selected to serve as principal of Hardin Middle School, effective July 1, 2022. The District’s Board of Education approved the selection at their monthly open session on June 9, 2022.

Dr. Stephanie JewettDr. Jewett currently serves as the assistant principal of Holman Middle School in the Pattonville School District, a role she has occupied since 2016. Prior to her current role, Dr. Jewett served as a teacher at Pattonville High School from 2014-16.

“Taking over the helm of Hardin Middle School will be an exciting endeavor,” Dr. Jewett said. “7th and 8th grades are such formative years in a student’s life and I’m looking forward to making a positive impact in the St. Charles community.”

Dr. Jewett holds six degrees: a Doctorate of Education in Teaching and Learning from Missouri Baptist University, an Educational Specialist degree from William Woods University, a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of Alaska-Anchorage, a Master of Education from William Woods University, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and Bachelor of Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. 

“We are very excited to welcome Dr. Jewett to the City of St. Charles School District family,” said Dr. Jason Sefrit, superintendent of schools. “Her experience working as a middle school assistant principal will help provide a seamless transition in school leadership.”

Dr. Jewett will be replacing Dr. Darryl Diggs, who is pursuing other opportunities outside of the district after serving two years as principal of Hardin Middle School.
