Dr. Denson named Jefferson Intermediate Principal

Dr. Amanda DensonThe City of St. Charles School District is excited to announce that Dr. Amanda Denson has been selected to serve as principal of Jefferson Intermediate School, effective July 1, 2022. The District’s Board of Education approved the selection at a special meeting on March 28, 2022.

Dr. Denson currently serves as the assistant principal of Drummond Elementary in the Pattonville School District, a role she has occupied since 2018. Prior to her current role, Dr. Denson served as an elementary teacher at Drummond Elementary from 2014-18.

“Taking over the helm of Jefferson Intermediate will be an exciting endeavor,” Dr. Denson said. “5th and 6th grades are such formative years in a student’s life and I’m looking forward to making a positive impact in the St. Charles community.”

Dr. Denson holds four degrees: a Doctorate of Education Administration from Missouri Baptist University, an Educational Specialist degree from Missouri Baptist University, a Master of  Educational Administration from Missouri Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Central Methodist University. 

“We are very excited to welcome Dr. Denson to the City of St. Charles School District family,” said Dr. Jason Sefrit, superintendent of schools. “Her experience working as an elementary assistant principal will help provide a seamless transition in school leadership.”

Dr. Denson will be replacing Jeremy Shields, who is taking the position of assistant superintendent of operations as of July 1, 2022.
