St. Charles is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year and to mark this occassion, various business and institutions acorss the city have decorated and installed a "Seaman the Dog" statue. Seaman was Meriwether Lewis & William Clark’s trusty dog who accompanied them on their trip from the Mississippi River to the Pacific coast and back. He is the only animal to complete the entire trip. He’s a very good boy.
A big thanks goes out to District art students and Mrs. Bildner from St. Charles West for doing a great job in paint our statue. It will be on display outside the Benton Admin Building to the right of the front door.
Feel free to take your photo with him when he’s on display and use the hashtag #SCSDseaman to show it off!
