Dr. Happel named new SCHS principal
The City of St. Charles School District is excited to announce that Dr. Ted Happel has been selected to serve as principal of St. Charles High School, effective July 1, 2022. The District’s Board of Education approved the selection at its January 13, 2022 meeting.
Dr. Happel currently serves as the assistant principal of St. Charles High School, a role he has occupied since 2010. Prior to his current role, Dr. Happel served as an English teacher at St. Charles West from 2002-10.
“I’m thrilled to continue working with the students, staff and families of St. Charles High,” Dr. Happel said. “St. Charles High School has a rich history in the community and I’m honored to be part of it.”
Dr. Happel holds three degrees: a Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from University of Missouri, Saint Louis.
“We are very excited for Dr. Happel’s new role in the St. Charles School District family,” said Dr. Jason Sefrit, superintendent of schools. “By moving up from assistant principal, Dr. Happel provides invaluable insight and continuity to the position as he leads SCHS into the future.”
Dr. Happel will be replacing Jeff Walker, who is retiring at the end of the 2021-2022 school year after serving the district dutifully for twelve years.
