Brett Kobernus named director of Success Campus

The City of St. Charles School District is excited to announce that Brett Kobernus has been selected to serve as director of the Success Campus, effective July 1, 2022. The District’s Board of Education approved the selection at its January 13, 2022 meeting.

Kobernus currently serves as the assistant principal of Hardin Middle School, a role he has occupied since 2019. Prior to his current role, Kobernus served as a math teacher at Hardin from 2018-19.

“I’m very excited to serve the students and staff at the Success Campus,” Kobernus said. “Being the director of the Success Campus offers the ability to make a positive impact on the lives of more at-risk students. It’s a responsibility that I take seriously and that I’m looking forward to starting.”

Kobernus holds two degrees: a Masters in Administration from Lindenwood University and a Bachelor of Science in Education from University of Missouri, Columbia.

“We are very excited for Brett’s new role in the St. Charles School District family,” said Dr. Jason Sefrit, superintendent of schools. “Success Campus offers its students a unique educational experience and we’re confident that Brett is the right person to facilitate that learning environment for its students.”

Kobernus will be replacing Dr. Christine Jarus, who is retiring at the end of the 2021-2022 school year after serving the district faithfully for an astounding 28 years.
