Peggy Shelton Named State Transition Liaison

For nearly 12 years, our Transition Program Coordinator Mrs. Peggy Shelton has been a Missouri Transition Liaison through DESE, and she recently earned the role for another year!

Missouri Transition Liaisons are practicing teachers from across the state who devote time and energy to increasing the capacity of local-level secondary special educators and districts. Liaisons participate in regular trainings and meetings and Mrs. Shelton will share the information she learns within our district and at the regional level to develop a collaborative network of colleagues focused on issues related to secondary transition of youth with disabilities.

The role has greatly changed since Mrs. Shelton began as a liaison, and we know she is making positive changes throughout our state for all children, and especially Missouri children with disabilities.
