Mr. Glenn Seithel

AUTO SERVICE TECHNOLOGY I INSTRUCTOR

A native of Maryland Heights and a graduate of North County Tech High School and Pattonville High School, Mr. Seithel is an ASE Master Certified Mechanic who worked for 23 years as a dealer mechanic at two locations: Carlson Oldsmobile/ Huey Honda and most recently, Bommarito Mazda.  In 2007, he brought his knowledge and his passion for automobiles to Lewis & Clark.  Dozens of mechanics in the St. Louis metro area got their start under the guidance of Mr. Seithel.

Mr. Seithel enjoys the outdoors and spends his spare time boating, fishing, hunting, or working on his hobby farm.  He also enjoys tinkering with his John Deere antique tractor and enjoys repairing equipment and various “stuff”.  Mr. Seithel has been married for more than 30 years and has two grown sons and an adorable granddaughter.

“I love to work with students who are passionate about automobiles and eager to learn.  I enjoy seeing them in the “aha” moment - when it clicks.  I also enjoy following the careers of my former students.  It’s very cool when they come back to visit years later.”

Mr. Robert Turner

AUTO SERVICE TECHNOLOGY II INSTRUCTOR

Mr. Turner joined the Lewis & Clark staff at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year.  He is a native and current resident of Illinois.  For 18 years he worked as an ASE Master Certified technician at an independent automotive shop before beginning his teaching career at his alma mater, Ranken Technical College in St. Louis.  He is also ASE certified in light diesel, advanced drivability, and general maintenance.

Family time is important to Mr. Turner as he is married and has four children.  He is a boy scout leader for his son’s troop, and enjoys camping, hiking and biking.

  • 2 year program; 3 units of credit per year         
     
    This course is open to individuals who have an interest in auto service trades in terms of a career goal.  It is recommended that students have credit in general shop, general metals course and basic computer skills.  
    Automotive instruction at Lewis & Clark consists of a two-year program that provides the student with the basic theory and skills needed to become an entry-level automotive technician and service today's automobiles.  Classroom instruction is followed by shop activities related to the lecture.  Customer cars are repaired in the same manner as in the professional shop under the instructor's supervision.  Students will gain experience in shop management by writing repair orders, ordering parts, and issuing supplies and tools used in the trade.
     
    This course is ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified by NATEF (National Automotive Technician Education Foundation).  Both NATEF and ASE are nationally recognized and provide certification for shops and technicians across the country.
