Mr. Dale Smith

POWER EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR

A proud native of Warrensburg, Missouri, Mr. Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in career and technical education at the University of Central Missouri where he served as a teaching assistant for two years.  Mr. Smith has been around small engines and equipment his whole life because his family has been in the lawn equipment business since 1958, well before Mr. Smith was born!  Mr. Smith worked at the family business in sales, repair, and service for 12 years before deciding to move to St. Charles to teach at Lewis & Clark in 1997. Mr. Smith has earned certification in both 4-cycle and 2-cycle engines and he is widely known in the St. Charles community and around Lewis & Clark as a very approachable expert in his field.

Mr. Smith enjoys coaching “flyball” teams of dogs, woodworking, and traveling.  He has one daughter and one granddaughter.

“I enjoy helping my students work to their potential and helping them develop a future where they can be successful.”
