• BE PREPARED TO PURCHASE THESE ITEMS THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF SCHOOL.  Items with an * may be purchased through the school or the instructor wants to talk to you before you purchase.

     

    BRICK & STONE MASONRY:

     *Safety glasses, steel toed shoes or boots, appropriate work clothes, and three-ring notebook. Brick   spacing rule, brick hammer, horse hair brush, and a 3/8” tuck pointer pointing trowel. Do not buy anything until the first day of class and you have discussed supplies with your instructor.

     

    BUILDING TRADES:

    *Safety glasses, appropriate work clothes, safety boots with hard soles, 25’ tape measure, hammer, tool pouch, chalk box, utility knife, hard hat, and speed square.  Supplies will cost approximately $250 depending on quality purchased. Do not buy anything until the first day of class and you have discussed supplies with your instructor.

     

    ELECTRICAL TRADES:

    • Tape Measure- 25’
    • Claw Hammer- 12-20 oz
    • Wire Strippers -must strip 14 AWG and 12 AWG (romex strippers are preferred)  
    • Flat head screwdriver - (you may want a larger tip and a smaller/more fine tip)
    • Phillips tip screwdriver - (approximate size #2)
    • Lineman's Pliers - ( 8”- 9” recommended)
    • Diagonal Cutting Pliers - (8”-9” with angled head recommended) 
    • Needle Nose Pliers 
    • ¼’ Nut driver
    • 5/16’ Nut driver
    • Non-contact voltage tester - always verify the circuit is turned off before you begin work.   (Fluke, Greenlee, or Kline are recommended)
    • Conduit Reamer  (½” and 3/4”  are required you may have a larger one )
    • Magnetic torpedo level
    • Sharpie Fine point or ultra fine point
    • Carpenter’s pencil
    • UGLY’s electrical Reference (very helpful not essential for class) 
    • Tool pouch - you must wear the tool pouch while working 

     

    HEATING, VENTILATION, & AIR CONDITIONING:

    *Safety glasses, leather shoes, two-piece uniform.  Do not buy anything until the first day of class and you have discussed the uniforms with the instructor.  E.P.A. Certification is needed to earn a Lewis & Clark Career Center Certificate of Completion.  The cost of this test is approximately $55.
