Mr. Joseph Callahan

ELECTRICAL TRADES INSTRUCTOR

Mr. Callahan has been the Electrical Trades teacher since 2020.  A native of St. Louis County, Mr. Callahan earned his journeyman’s  card as an electrician and worked in the field as both a commercial electrician and residential electrician for fifteen years.  In 2013, he earned his bachelor’s degree at Webster University and began his teaching career the following year.  Mr. Callahan taught science at Visitation Academy before moving to Washington High School.  Nearby, Four Rivers Career Center recruited him to teach PLTW Engineering until he took over the Electrical Trades program at Lewis & Clark.  In 2020, he also earned his master's degree at Missouri Baptist University.

In his spare time, Mr. Callahan enjoys biking, fishing, hiking, and camping with his family and friends.   He has coached wrestling at Washington High School for several years.  In addition, he and his wife play on a co-ed soccer team.  They have three children.

“I enjoy teaching and sharing my experiences working in the electrical trades. Working with students that are motivated to learn a skill and a trade is what Lewis & Clark is all about.”
