Mrs. Heidi Sikma

Sikma graduated with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology in 2004. Upon completion of her education, she worked in a private practice counseling and performing psychological testing with children, adolescents, and adults. Her husband, Marc, and her have lived in St. Charles for the past 14 years and we absolutely love the people in this community. She is involved in the community through my service as a volunteer for the non-profit my husband started in 2010, We Love St. Charles (WLSC).
The Sikmas have three children in the school district: Avery-8th grade at Hardin Middle School, Dawson-6th grade at Jefferson, and Maddox-5th grade at Jefferson. I have been heavily involved in my children’s education within the District by serving and leading on the Parent Teacher Organizations. Over the past 10 years, she has served on multiple district interview panels as a parent representative.

Mr. Daniel Hewitt

Daniel Hewitt was elected to the school board in April 2022. He works as a senior manager in corporate compliance at Boeing. He has a BS in psychology from Lindenwood University-Belleville and an MBA from Lindenwood University. Daniel has lived in St. Charles nearly his entire life and was a graduate from St. Charles West, class of 2007
Daniel and his wife, Danielle, have lived together in St. Charles for over a decade. They have three children, Violet, Henry and Arthur, who are current and future students in the district. Daniel also previously spent five years coaching wrestling at St. Charles West.

Ms. Lori Gibson

Lori Gibson was elected to the school board in April of 2008. She is a freelance actress and an avid volunteer in the community, working with such groups as Habitat for Humanity and the St. Charles School District. She also works part-time for the State of Illinois, training officers in crisis intervention.
Lori has lived in St. Charles for thirty-two years with her husband Rick, a flavor chemist for Firmenich Inc. Their daughter, Courtney, is a 2003 graduate of Saint Charles High.

Mrs. Karen O'Hearn

Karen O’Hearn graduated with a M.S. Education and a B.S. Business Administration from the University of Missouri--St. Louis (UMSL). She holds lifetime certification in Business Education and Secondary Counseling. After working full-time for five years in corporate accounting, she began her career as a public-school business/vocational teacher and eventually moved to the counseling department. During her long career in education, she was also an adjunct professor in the Counseling Department at UMSL, H.S. FBLA sponsor, ACT Coordinator, and swimming coach. Karen is involved in many community groups, two book clubs, and lifetime fitness activities.
Patrick and Karen O’Hearn have been married for 45 years, have two married children, and five grandchildren. Their son’s family resides in Columbia, MO, and their daughter’s family lives in the City of St. Charles, where they have three children attending Lincoln Elementary. The O’Hearns have enjoyed living in the City of St. Charles for eight years and St. Charles County since 2000.

Mr. Brian K. O'Mara

Brian K. O’Mara has been married for 18 years and has two children currently in the district. I am a 5th generation native to St. Charles County and want to be involved with the future of our community. I am an operations manager leading a team of 20 people who serve job sites all across the country. I work with a very diverse group of individuals and love building cohesive teams and work under the premise of continuous improvement. I also work closely with the leadership, project managers, engineers, accountants and laborers on a daily basis to ensure that we are serving our projects efficiently and meeting budget requirements.

Ms. M. Ellen Zerr

Ms. M. Ellen Zerr holds a B.S. in Chemistry/Life Science from Missouri S&T and an M.A. in Education from UM-St. Louis. A retired educator, she has taught in various high schools, the most recent being SCW (2000-2004) and SCHS (2004-2018). She is a graduate of SCHS and currently serves as a volunteer tutor at Null Elementary. Prior to her career in education, she spent 10 years working in the chemical industry.
